Beautiful Driftwood Chuppah designed and hand crafted by myself from 16 pieces of hand picked driftwood gathered off the shores of North Idaho's pristine lakes. The Driftwood Chuppah is sturdy and self standing.
The driftwood Chuppah would work great for a wedding planner who is in need of a versatile and mobile arbor that can be transported from venue to venue. I recommend
purchasing the all bolt option and the 4 stake option..
The chuppah can be customized. Please email me at support@northidahodrift.com or txt me at 208 512-0328 to discuss options.
Included in the package are:
4 driftwood poles (uprights) 86" in length. diameter may vary from 2" to 4"
4 driftwood poles (cross supports) 84" in length. diameter may vary from 2" to 4".
8 driftwood sticks (braces) 26" in length diameter 1.5" to 2"
16 wood screws of various lengths.
8 5/8" bolts
16 5/8" washers
8 5/8" wing nuts
Illustrated Assembly Instructions included
The wood screws connect the 8 braces to the cross supports and the uprights.
The bolts connect the 4 cross supports to the 4 uprights.
All of the wood screws are left inserted in the driftwood. All of the connections are pre drilled and numbered for ease in assembly.
Tools required: a power drill with a number 2 philips bit. 1/8" x 6" bit is optional but recommended.
Stake Kit Option:
Each stake is .5" in diameter and 30" in length. the bottom of the uprights to be staked are modified by drilling a .75" hole 12" deep lined with steel tubing. The stakes are placed 75" apart and driven into the ground leaving 12" exposed above the surface. The bottom of the modified upright slides over the top of the stake securing it to the ground and hiding it from view. Tools required: a hammer preferably a two + pound sledge hammer
Either the two or four stake kit is recommended for windy conditions if a canopy is attached to the top and for placing in a permanent location. The stake kit will secure the chuppah to the ground and aids in setup by providing support for the uprights which otherwise need to be held or supported during the assembly process.
The two stake kit provides support for the two front uprights. The back two uprights will still need to be supported during assembly.
The four stake kit provides support for all four uprights. Assembly can be accomplished by one person much easier.
Steel Stand Option:
Two or four Steel stands are available to be used instead of the stakes. The stands are made from 1/2" rebar and measure W 12" x L 12" x H 12". The bottom of the uprights to be used with the stands are modified by drilling a .75" hole 12" deep lined with steel tubing. The stands are placed 75". The bottom of the modified upright slides over the top of the steel peg hiding it from view.
The steel stands can be purchased in pairs of two or four stands. Two or four stakes are included with the two or four steel stand kits
Either the two or four stand kit are recommended for windy conditions if a canopy is attached to the top and stakes aren't an option for your venue . The stands will need to be weighted down for wind gusts greater then 20mph.
The stands aid in setup by providing support for the uprights which otherwise need to be held or supported during the assembly process.
The two stand kit provides support for the two front uprights. The back two uprights will still need to be supported during assembly.
The four stand kit provides support for all four uprights. Assembly can be accomplished by one person much easier.
All Bolt Option:
For wedding planners who plan on using the chuppah at various venues the all bolt upgrade is recommend. The upgrade replaces the 16 wood screws used to attach the braces with 5/16" bolts, washers and wing nuts. The bolt option increases the longevity of the driftwood compared to using wood screws which have a tendency to tear up the wood every time the chuppah is setup and taken down.
The option eliminates the need for a power drill and #2 philips bit. Tools required: none however a 5/16" socket wrench is recommended
All driftwood has been hand picked from North Idaho lakes. Our driftwood is not chemically treated in anyway. It has been washed in plain water and air dried.
